Wokingham area all age autism strategy
The Autism Strategy has been developed in collaboration with autistic people and their families. Its goal is to improve outcomes for all autistic individuals, including those who self-identify or may be undiagnosed.
We will take a broad, neuro-inclusive approach, acknowledging that many autistic people are neurodivergent in multiple ways. The actions within the strategy aim to positively impact not only autistic individuals but also others within the neurodivergent community.
The strategy focuses on six priority areas, which also take into account:
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Building Blocks of Health and Wellbeing
- Carers
This strategy is jointly owned by:
- Wokingham Borough Council
- Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board
- Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
- Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust
- SEND Voices Wokingham
- Promise Inclusion
- ASD Family Help
- Autism Berkshire
- CLASP
The six priority areas are outlined in the following pages.
