Wokingham Town Council’s Grounds Team play a critical role in ensuring our parks and outside spaces are welcoming and safe places for our residents to enjoy. The town council manages eight parks across the town area, including five children’s play areas and they are all important places for our local community to enjoy their leisure time.

Wokingham Town Council has taken part in RHS Britain in Bloom for more than ten years, and its influence can be seen right across the town, from turning unloved areas into beautiful, natural garden spaces, to creating valued, sustainable community spaces, and we have hundreds of volunteers to help support our projects. In 2023, Wokingham Town was entered into the National Bloom competition for the first time, and came away with a host of awards and recognition for the amazing work that the team has accomplished.

We now need to grow our Bloom staff team to help support this work, whilst ensuring that it continues to be embedded in the work we do in our own parks and open spaces. This new role will help support the continued delivery of our Bloom projects through supporting the work of our Bloom Officer and our Bloom Volunteers and continue to ensure that our town centre parks are loved and well used by our residents.

Please find further information about the role in the documentation attached. Please complete the application form which can be found on our website: https://www.wokingham-tc.gov.uk/grounds-and-bloom-assistant/
