Winnersh is a popular and friendly two-form entry primary school with 400 pupils on roll. Our children are thoughtful, caring and keen to learn and we have a talented and supportive team of staff who are focused on providing the best opportunities for them. We are judged to be a good school by Ofsted, and our children make good progress in reading, writing and maths.  We are especially proud that our school was described as a harmonious community and that our curriculum was highlighted as an area of strength.

We are seeking to appoint on a part-time maternity cover basis for this combined role and the successful applicant will join our friendly and hardworking office team.  This role is not for the faint hearted but would suit a flexible individual who can flourish in the unpredictable, often challenging environment of school life.  In return you will be part of a very close-knit team who see support and teamwork as an essential part of what they do and will work in a role that gives huge job satisfaction.

The role itself is a combination of administrative tasks in relation to school attendance and registers, alongside the planning and implementation of our trip schedule.  This then falls alongside the role of Family Support Worker, which holds more of a supportive, pastoral function within the school.  The post is one that promises to be varied with no two days looking the same; a rewarding role with the chance to work as part of a strong team in a school we are very proud of.

We are planning for the role to start in September but would be happy to add some additional days of training before the Summer Holidays if that was suitable.

Our successful candidate will be:

  • Committed to creating a happy, warm and nurturing environment;
  • Empathetic, discreet and caring
  • Passionate about children, their development and achievements; and
  • Committed to working as part of a team on the front line at a very busy school

In return we offer:

  • Enthusiastic, happy and confident children who are proud of their school and love learning;
  • A strong team of dedicated staff who are committed to maintaining high standards;
  • A friendly working environment where full support will be offered throughout

Visits are recommended and warmly welcomed. To book a school visit, please contact Mrs Clare Skelland on recruitment@winnersh.wokingham.sch.uk or call 0118 782590.  For further information about the school, please visit our website:  www.winnershprimaryschool.co.uk

Closing Date: Monday 8th July 2024

Interviews:     W/beg 9th July 2024

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
