Are you a qualified and experienced Public Sector Procurement professional looking for a new opportunity? 

Your opportunity  

We are seeking to recruit a Procurement Manager who has a clear understanding of public contract regulations and is qualified to CIPS Level 4. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills, the ability to think strategically and a proven record in the public sector effectively assessing and managing risk.  Reporting to a Chief Operating Officer and working with our schools and the Trust’s School Support Team, we are looking for someone who prides themselves on working collaboratively, is a strong team player and has excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will work as part of GLF Schools’ Business and Operations team, using their previous experience and expertise to deliver value for money for our schools. This key role will support our schools to deliver the best possible education with the resources available.

We are interested to hear from qualified professionals who bring strong experience in the public sector. 

This will be a hybrid post, with opportunities to work from home and at one of our base offices in Banstead, Camberley, Horsham or Banbury.  

What we are looking for 

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Qualified to CIPs Level 4, or equivalent by way of 5 years public sector professional experience  
  • strives to deliver best practice at all times 
  • has experience procuring contracts within the public sector 
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written 
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills  
  • Ability to work under pressure, with accuracy, unsupervised and on own initiative  

The role will include: 

  • Shaping the procurement strategy for GLF Schools in line with the Trust’s vision and values; analysing and interpreting spend data and information from schools  
  • Leading tenders and Threshold procurement, where applicable, to ensure adherence to procurement legislation 
  • Providing guidance and support to colleagues to ensure compliance with Trust procedures and legislative requirements, ensuring value for money

Salary: £40,000-£41,600 (£50,000-£52,000 Full-time equivalent salary)

Hours of work: 4 days per week
