 Wheatfield Primary School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and positive Learning Support Assistant.

Your opportunity:

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to play a key role in supporting the class teacher and the SENDCo in the teaching and welfare of children with learning and physical needs.

This role would initially be deployed in our Reception class, working as part of our dedicated Early Years team. You would be helping to support specific children with their learning needs across the school day. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and the SENDCO. Experience of working with children with additional learning needs would be a benefit.

  • Be able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child you are supporting
  • Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with challenging behaviour
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team
  • Be a confident and clear communicator with parents
  • Be flexible with regard to other classroom work
  • Have experience of working with children with additional learning needs

The Details

Working hours: 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset).

Salary Grade: Associate 2.1

Salary Full Time Equivalent: £20,809 

Actual Salary for Pro Rata hours: £16,161 for 32.5 hours per week 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday
