Deputy Clerk

Barkham Parish Council is seeking a Deputy Clerk to work alongside the Parish Clerk.

The Council is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who is flexible and able to adapt to ever changing demands. If you have a genuine interest in helping our council develop and deliver quality and innovative services to the local community, this post is ideal.

The main duties include supporting the day to day activities of the Parish Council, acting as Proper Officer in in the absence of the Parish Clerk and gaining a working knowledge of managing The Coombes Woodlands. The successful applicant will be jointly responsible for posting agendas and taking minutes of some evening meetings and provide general administrative support to the Council.

Opportunities within BPC are varied depending on experience and  availability with  appropriate training being provided for those wishing to develop new skills.

 

Barkham Parish Council staff are employed under Local Government Services (Green Book) terms and conditions with some terms and conditions agreed locally.

Starting Salary: SCP 13 to 17, £13.97 - £14.95 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Hours: Part time, to be agreed with successful applicant

Benefits include: Contributory pension scheme
