Ascendancy Partnership Trust, Hybrid role in Berkshire

Starting Salary: £38,689 - £42,499 per annum (MG7 London Fringe, pay award pending)

Hours: 37 per week, term time plus 4 weeks, permanent

Ascendancy Partnership Trust (APT) is a newly formed multi-academy trust (MAT) with deep community roots across the Berkshire area, composed of Addington School, Manor Green School and Brookfields School all specialising in learning difficulties. Our mission is to provide the best possible education for children and young people with additional and complex needs in both special and mainstream schools.

We have an exciting and unique opportunity within the trust for a Tribunal and Admissions Manager with personal drive, energy and ambition to achieve challenging targets and improve outcomes.

You will manage and attend Tribunals for APT schools, work directly with the Admissions Co-ordinators in all schools and will represent the schools at meetings focused on provision in EHCPs with parents and other stakeholders. With expert knowledge and understanding of legislation, statutory frameworks and policy in relation to admissions and EHCPs, you will formulate legal responses to LAs in response to consultations for placement at schools within the MAT.

You will advise and report on all EHCP-related matters and, with firm knowledge and experience in Tribunals, will contribute to the overall effective operation of each of the schools.

You will have extensive experience of working with SEND children and young people and good knowledge of safeguarding legislation related to disabled children. You will undertake relevant casework and, in line with national best practice, provide high quality advice to colleagues, parents and other agencies.

This is a hybrid role in which you will be required to work from home, at the MAT central offices and regularly on site at each of the APT schools. You may be required to attend occasional out of hours meetings, time off in lieu will be offered.

We can offer:

·        Local Government or Teachers' Pension Scheme

·        Generous annual leave entitlement

·        Continuous professional development

·        Free parking

·        Family-friendly policies

·        Membership of an inclusive learning community with SEND expertise

Closing date: 15th May 2024                     Interview date:  21st May 2024

APT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All employees of APT are required to undergo safeguarding checks which will include reference checks and enhanced DBS check. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
