I would like to request the following under the Freedom of Information Act.
1. How many pupils aged 5-16 in the authority area had EHCPs in each of these years?
2021 – as of 01/01/2022: 1067
2022 – as of 01/01/2023: 1285
2023 – as of 01/01/2024: 150
2. How many pupils aged 5-16 in the authority area with EHCPS have been placed at independent school or education settings in each of these years?
2021 – as of 01/01/2022: 70
2022 – as of 01/01/2023: 88
2023 – as of 01/01/2024: 127
3. How much has been spent on independent school or education setting placements for the pupils with EHCPs in each of the last three years?
2021/22: £8,922
2022/23: £9,706
2023/24: £12,301
Including pupils below 5 and post 16
4. If possible can you say what percentage the total spend on independent school or education settings for pupils with EHCPs has been of the council’s overall spending on EHCPs and its overall high needs budget for each of the following years?
2021/22: 30%
2022/23: 30%
