I work for an alternative provision and am hoping to get some answers to the following questions via a freedom of information request to help us provide educational support to young people in areas where it is needed.
1. In the last academic year how many students had an EHCP in Wokingham Borough Council?
As at 01/09/24, Wokingham Borough Council maintained 2173 plans.
2. What was Wokingham Borough Council's total spend on students with EHCP's for the last academic year?
The total spend on students with EHCP’s for the financial year 2023-24 was £39,954k. We do not record the information by academic year.
3. Do you have an 'in house' alternative provision service for children with an EHCP who are out of school or struggling to attend?
Yes – Foundry College.
4. In Wokingham Borough Council, how many children with an EHCP are currently not receiving an education?
Seven.
5. What is the percentage increase of children with an EHCP for 2022/23 to 2023/24 academic years?
16.6%.
6. How many children are currently out of school in Wokingham Borough Council?
Nine.
7. Is there a Dynamic Purchasing System in use at Wokingham Borough Council to refer students to providers?
No.
