This is a request under the freedom of information act. I am seeking information and or data with regards to equines that are abandoned and end up fly grazing across the Borough of Wokingham.

1. Data the number of abandoned fly grazing horses for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.
2020: 0
2021: 0
2022: 0
2023: 0
2024: 0

2. The most effective solutions that Wokingham Borough Council use to combat this welfare issue.
We are not aware of any instances of this occurring. They would be dealt with by the landowner – if it were on Wokingham Borough Council owned land referrals are most likely to made to the Countryside Service and the PPP would give advice on the process if required.
There is also a requirement for the Police to be notified, by landowners, if they are looking to use the Control of Horses Act 2015 to remove them
