Please can you provide the following:

1.
a) The number of data breach incidents the council has had between 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023-date (March 2024)
The Council experience approx. 100 data breaches per annum. These are usually low risk breaches that have been caused due to human error.

b) Of these, how many were cyber-incidents?
None.

2. How much has the council paid out in compensation for Data Breach claims between 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023-date (March 2024)?
In respect of ‘Data Breach’ claims referred to the council’s Insurance Team and/or Public Liability insurers in the years 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023 to March 2024 no compensation (i.e. £0) has been paid.
