Special educational needs transport
Special education transport is provided based on your child's individual needs. Our Special Educational Needs Service will undertake a Transport Needs Assessment for your child. If you choose to send your child to a school that is further away from your home than another school that can meet your child's needs, you will be responsible for arranging and funding the transport to that school.
Transport for people aged 16 plus

Our duty to you
We, as Local Education Authority, have a duty to provide transport where:
- A child is under the age of 8 and lives more than 2 miles from their designated school
- A child is aged 8-16 years and lives more than 3 miles from their designated school
